What's it all about?
Italy by Vintage Car is entirely unique. It's a concept unique to Italy, a concept that exists nowhere else in the world.
Our love of classic cars gave us the idea of enabling travelers to experience the joy of driving wonderful old automobiles through some of the most glorious landscapes on earth. And to make it even more wonderful we add to the recipe luxurious and magnificent country hotels, visits to off-the-beaten-track villages, wineries and castles, and some of the most delicious food in all of Europe.
Some of the most legendary and glamorous Italian cars of the 1950's, 1960's and early 1970's are in our inventory, all in tip-top condition.
Here's what we do:
-
Every Italy by Vintage Car itinerary is highly detailed, with a suggested daily touring route through the Italian countryside. We arrange lunches at spectacular restaurants and occasionally visits to specific sites, wineries or markets. Usually, three or four cars make the trip - never more than eight, sometimes as few as two.
-
Each night is spent in magnificent surroundings. We agonize over planning an ideal and unexpected tour. Enormous care is taken in selecting extraordinary places: unique and exclusive palaces, castles, Patrician villas, classic "Grand Hotels" or "relais", where style, comfort and service surpass the expectations of even the most demanding traveler.
-
Your classic vintage car is yours for the duration of the driving portion of the trip. A host and valet-mechanic accompany you, and stay at your hotel. They are both English-speaking and on hand to give you thoughts and ideas for the next day's route, as well as providing peace of mind. Every evening, the valet-mechanic checks the tires and the engine, washes and polishes the car, and fills it with gas. You don't even have to bother about luggage: leave your packed suitcase in your room and it will magically appear in your hotel room when you arrive at the next stop.
-
We give you a detailed, suggested route for each day's journey, but you're perfectly free to compose your own. There are no schedules to follow, there are no musts. Even though you are traveling with other cars, do what you want when you want, go where you want, dine à deux or with traveling companions as you wish.
